Devastating floods and landslides struck Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, Indonesia, in November 2025, causing widespread destruction across the region. Entire communities were submerged, homes were destroyed, and critical infrastructure was severely damaged.
As of December 5, 2025, reports indicate that 867 people have lost their lives, while 521 others remain missing. More than 3.2 million people across 50 towns have been affected by this disaster, many of whom have been displaced and are struggling to access basic necessities.
